What I am Looking For: Full time
Max Distance Willing to Travel For Cover/Swing: n/a
Main Transport: whatever it takes
What Do You Excel at Other Than Your Profession: Sports; I think I could do sports talk radio if I pursued it.
Other Information: I'm here for a couple of reasons. Mainly to get feedback on the airchecks posted here, which I will update and change every so often. I am always in search of advice and insight from anyone who wants to share, so feel free!
Secondly, I feel like I am in a bit of a career rut. Make no mistake, New York is my hometown, and Lite FM is #1 in the city; I love where I am and what I do. Given all the downsizing in radio the last few years, I'm certainly grateful to still be working in this business, but I would be interested in at least exploring other possibilities if any are available.
I should also point out that while Lite FM is an Adult Contemporary station and the posted audio reflects the directives and objectives of our station, my background and upbringing is in urban radio. Other than Lite FM, every job you see listed in my work history is urban based. I have worked in the urban/hip-hop and urban adult formats as a personality, music director and program director, so I can bring some other skills to the table as well. I've enjoyed the experience of working in multiple musical formats and would be excited about a new challenge in yet another format too!
One last thing; as I mentioned above, I have been a programmer and would love to do it again, but I chose to put myself in the presenter category. I did that because that's what I've done for the majority of my career, and because none of the management profiles I saw had any audio attached to them. I wasn't sure if you could add audio to your profile if you are in the management category, and I wanted to make sure you could hear me! :-)
